Spanish State Ports: 181+ million tonnes through April and TEUs keep recovering

Spain’s ports of general interest handled more than 181 million tonnes of cargo through April, against a backdrop of economic and geopolitical uncertainty. TEUs continue to recover, up 4.2% in the first four months of the year, according to Puertos del Estado. For importers and exporters, this means stronger flow—but also higher operational demands: documentation on time, slot coordination and close tracking to avoid friction.

At GMR Global Trans, we turn port activity into operational advantage:

  • End-to-end coordination (port–warehouse–customer) to reduce waiting and idle time.
  • Milestone control to anticipate deviations before they reach destination.
  • Route/service alternatives when needed to protect lead times without losing efficiency.

And with our logistics base in the Valencian Community, we stay close to one of Spain’s key Mediterranean corridors, improving day-to-day agility.

GMR Global Trans: more visibility, fewer surprises, more predictability in port operations.
