Maritime Transport

Maritime transport: the backbone of global tradeMaritime transport is one of the fundamental pillars of international trade, connecting markets, people and resources across the globe. With more than 80% of the world’s trade volume moving by sea, this mode of transport stands out for its ability to move large quantities of goods efficiently and economically. From containers filled with manufactured goods to essential raw materials such as oil, minerals and grains, the oceans become highways that make globalization possible.Moreover, maritime transport is not only crucial for its scale, but also for its sustainability compared to other means of mass transport. With increasingly advanced and sustainable technologies, the maritime industry is evolving to reduce its environmental impact while remaining the engine of global economies. Exploring the advantages of maritime transport is discovering a sector that combines tradition and innovation, with a common goal: connecting the world across the seas.

Full Container Load (FCL) Maritime Transport

Full Container Load (FCL) shipping, commonly known as Full Container Load (FCL), is a shipping method widely used in international trade for the movement of goods.

Full container load (FCL) shipping is one of the most efficient and safe logistics solutions for transporting large volumes of goods. In this mode, a company reserves an entire container for its products, which means that the load is not shared with other exporters or importers. The most common containers used in FCL are 20-foot and 40-foot containers, although there are variants such as refrigerated containers for perishable products, high-cube containers for bulky loads, and open or flat containers for loads that do not fit into standard containers.

Partial Load Maritime Transport (LCL)

Less than truckload (LCL) shipping is a logistics option designed for companies that do not have enough cargo to fill an entire container. In this method, multiple loads from different shippers are consolidated into a single container before being shipped, sharing the space and costs of shipping.

Less than Container (LCL) shipping is a crucial option for global logistics, allowing businesses of various sizes to participate in international trade. Although it does involve some challenges, its cost-efficiency and flexibility make it a valuable tool for the international supply chain.

Maritime Transport in Refrigerated Container (Reefer)

At GMR Global Trans, we are experts in handling goods that require controlled temperature conditions. Through our reefer container transport service, we guarantee that your perishable products arrive at their destination in the best conditions, preserving their quality and freshness throughout the journey.

Reefer containers are the ideal solution for transporting food, pharmaceuticals, flowers, sensitive chemicals and any goods that require a refrigerated or frozen environment. These containers feature advanced technology that allows them to maintain a constant temperature range, from -30°C to +30°C, depending on the specific needs of your cargo.

Maritime Transport of Dangerous Goods (IMO)

Maritime transport of dangerous goods is governed by the IMDG (International Maritime Dangerous Goods) code, which establishes the classification of these products, as well as their packaging, labelling, stowage and handling requirements on ships. It also provides guidelines for handling emergencies and accidents.

GMR Global Trans has experienced professionals in the handling of dangerous goods, which allows us to manage IMO container loads in an agile, fast and safe manner, guaranteeing the satisfaction of our clients.

Maritime Transport of Rolling Goods (RO-RO)

At GMR Global Trans, we are specialists in the maritime transport of rolling goods through the use of RO-RO (Roll-On/Roll-Off) services. This system allows the direct loading and unloading of vehicles and machinery, ensuring efficient and safe handling throughout the journey.

RO-RO transport is ideal for cars, trucks, heavy machinery, trailers and any wheeled load. Thanks to its design, this service minimises the risks associated with handling goods and optimises loading and unloading times. In addition, we offer customised solutions to suit the specific needs of each client and load.
